If you don’t have a manufacturer’s datasheet to prove a generator’s emissions levels, you’ll need an emissions test to support your permit application. IPU’s emissions testing service monitors carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), NOx (nitrogen oxides), and hydrocarbon (HC) levels. It provides the information you need for the Environment Agency and MCERTS. Our equipment generates instant results and a formal report follows shortly afterwards. The filters on your gensets are the last line of defence against contamination entering and damaging your engines. Racor’s range of spin-on and turbine fuel filters are the world’s gold standard for effective protection. They remove solid contaminants down to 2 microns and nearly 100% water through a combination of separation, coalescing and filtration. They range from compact units for smaller gensets with a fuel flow rate of 50lph right up to behemoths consuming fuel at 2,000lph.

Displays need to be so much more than a bright and attractive screen. They have to support graphical diagnostics, an easy control system and communication with other systems. Perhaps some of the crucial work we do surrounds fire pumps. A fire pump in correct working order can mean the difference between life and death. IPU’s hydraulic and air starting systems guarantee reliable start-up by using pressurised hydraulic fluid or air to crank the engines on the fire pumps. They’re tough, low maintenance, safe for use in hazardous areas and extremely reliable.

IPU regularly inspect fire pumps and their fuel tanks. During these OFTEC inspections, the team will pay close attention to the condition of the tank and any fittings. Because fire pumps are so critical, it is crucial to search for any potential leaks, or find leaks that are already present in the fuel tank. Other ancillary equipment and its functionality will also be inspected. Fire pumps must start in an emergency, which makes the condition of the fuel supply and infrastructure so important.

Regular testing gives you scientific proof that your fuel is clean and will not damage your engines. Our analyses – from our own independent lab or a commercial lab – identify all common contaminants. You can send samples to us or have us collect them. If the analysis is clear, the report is a cheap, fast route to reassurance. If there’s a problem, it proposes steps you can take to fix the problem fast, reliably and economically. If you store diesel, you need an annual OFTEC inspection. The engines you use and the regulations you work under mean that you can’t just leave fuel in a tank and forget it. IPU’s Fuel Cleaning Service takes whatever measures are necessary to remove contamination from your stored diesel. Our experienced team is used to working in constrained environments such as urban basements and has equipment to suit small rooms, corridors and stairways. In most instances, we clean your fuel from outside the tank, using high flow rates to pull contaminants from the sides of your tanks into our cleaning systems. In extreme cases, we remove the fuel and use man-entry cleaning to ensure the best results.

Contamination is growing in your fuel tanks right now. Water is being absorbed from the atmosphere, if nowhere else. Microbes are growing, especially if the tank’s in a warm location.
